Adonai, how many are my foes! Many are rising up against me!

I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous one forsaken, nor his children begging for bread.

For Adonai loves justice and does not abandon His godly ones. They will be preserved forever, but the seed of the wicked will be cut off.

I will say to God my Rock: “Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go about mourning, under the oppression of the enemy?”

Now consider this, you who forget God. Or else I will tear you in pieces with no one to rescue you.

Adonai my God, in You I have taken refuge. Save me from each of my persecutors, and deliver me.

Now if you are ready, at the moment you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp and pipes and all kinds of music you must fall down and worship the image that I have made. Now when Saul was told that David had gone to Keilah, Saul said, “God has delivered him into my hand! For he shut himself in by entering a town with barred gates.”
