Then Abraham answered and said, “Look, pray, I have decided to speak to my Lord, though I am dust and ashes.

By the sweat of your brow will you eat food, until you return to the ground, since from it were you taken. For you are dust, and to dust will you return.”

For we will all surely die and be like water spilt on the ground that cannot be gathered up again. Yet God does not take away life but rather, He devises plans so that a banished person may not remain an outcast from Him.

Remember You fashioned me like clay; will You return me to dust?

My bones cling to my skin and my flesh; I have escaped only by the skin of my teeth.

the voice of the nobles was hushed and their tongue stuck to their palate.

“And now my soul is poured out within me; days of suffering have taken hold of me.

all flesh would perish together and mankind would return to dust.

But when You hide Your face— they are dismayed. You take away their breath— they perish, and return to their dust.

To You, Adonai, I called, and to my Lord I made my plea:

My Lord, all my longing is before You, and my sighing is not hidden from You.

Scorn has broken my heart, so I am sick. I looked for sympathy, but there was none, for comforters, but found none.

I have sunk in deep mud, and there is no footing, I have come into deep waters, and a flood sweeps over me.

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Therefore I will give Him a portion with the great, and He will divide the spoil with the mighty— because He poured out His soul to death, and was counted with transgressors. For He bore the sin of many, and interceded for the transgressors.

The nursing infant’s tongue clings to the roof of his mouth for thirst. Little children ask for bread, but no one gives it t0 them.

Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake—some to everlasting life, and others to shame and everlasting contempt.

And Yeshua cried out again with a loud voice and gave up His spirit.

After this, when Yeshua knew that all things were now completed, to fulfill the Scripture He said, “I am thirsty.”

For I also passed on to you first of all what I also received— that Messiah died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
