For Adonai loves those He reproves, even as a father, the son in whom he delights.

As a father has compassion on his children, so Adonai has compassion on those who fear Him.

Blessed is the one You discipline, Adonai, and teach him from Your Torah,

He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent with discipline.

Correct your son and he will give you rest. He will bring delight to your soul.

Now you know in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so Adonai your God disciplines you.

because Adonai disciplines the one He loves and punishes every son He accepts.”

Those whom I love, I rebuke and discipline. Therefore, be zealous and repent.
