The righteous detest the unjust, and the wicked detest the upright.
A perverse heart will depart from me. I will know nothing evil.
Away from me, evildoers, so I may keep the mitzvot of my God!
Do I not hate those who hate You, Adonai? Do I not loathe those who rise against You?
I hate them with total hatred— I consider them my enemies.
My eyes are weakened with grief— they age because of my enemies.
I am worn out by my crying, my throat is parched, my eyes fail, waiting for my God.
A man is praised according to his insight, but one with a twisted mind is despised.
A desire fulfilled is sweet to the soul, but fools detest turning away from evil.
A foolish scheme is sin, and people detest a mocker.
Bloodthirsty people hate a man of integrity and seek the soul of the upright.
The words of Agur son of Jakeh— an oracle this man declared to Ithiel, to Ithiel and to Ucal:
Next I disposed of the three shepherds in one month—for my soul was impatient with them and their soul also detested me.
And you will be hated by all because of My name, but the one who endures to the end shall be saved.
“Then they will hand you over to persecution and will kill you. You will be hated by all the nations because of My name.
“He who hates Me also hates My Father.
I have given them Your word; and the world hated them, because they are not of the world just as I am not of the world.
The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify that its works are evil.
Do not be surprised, brothers and sisters, if the world hates you.
