When a country is in rebellion, it has many rulers, but a man of discernment and knowledge maintains order.

Mockers incite a city, but wise men turn away anger.

Now a poor, wise man was found in it, and he delivered the city by his shrewdness. Yet nobody remembered that poor man!

And the tongue is a fire. The tongue is a world of evil placed among our body parts. It pollutes the whole body and sets on fire the course of life—and is set on fire by Gehenna.
