Therefore, though I have plenty of boldness in Messiah to order you to do what’s right,
or seeking glory from people, whether from you or from others,
For even if I boast a little more about our authority—which the Lord gave for building you up and not for tearing you down—I will not be put to shame.
Therefore, having such a hope, we act with great boldness.
On the contrary, after we had first suffered and been mistreated in Philippi, as you know, we had boldness in our God to tell you the Good News of God—even in the midst of much opposition.
Obscene, coarse, and stupid talk are also out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.
To my shame I must say that we have been weak. Yet whatever anyone else dares to boast about—I speak in foolishness—I dare, too.
