But Yeshua said to them, “They don’t need to leave—you give them something to eat.”
Since Judah had the moneybox, some thought Yeshua was telling him, “Buy what we need for the feast,” or that he should give something to the poor.
Give portions to seven, or even to eight, for you do not know what disaster may happen upon the earth.
He answered them, saying, “Whoever has two coats, let him give to the one who has none; and whoever has food, let him do the same.”
One gives freely, yet gains even more. Another withholds unjustly, and comes to poverty.
When it became evening, the disciples came to Him, saying, “This place is isolated, and the hour is already late. Send the crowds away so they can go into the villages and buy food for themselves.”
“We have nothing here except five loaves and two fish,” they said to Him.
