“These are the ones sown on rocky ground. When they hear the word, immediately they receive it with joy.

He was the lamp that was burning and shining, and you wanted to rejoice for a while in his light.

And they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to each other, “What does this mean?”

When the captain of the Temple and the ruling kohanim heard these words, they were perplexed about them, wondering where this would lead.
