and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh.

In the same way, husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

This is why a man leaves his father and his mother and clings to his wife; and they become one flesh.

Or don’t you know that the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her? For it is said, “The two shall become one flesh.”

Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate!”
