Now during the feast, the governor was accustomed to release to the crowd one prisoner, anyone they wanted.

Now during the feast, he used to release to them one prisoner, anyone they were asking for.

Therefore I will scourge Him and release Him.”

But they shouted out all together, saying, “Take this fellow away! Release to us Bar-Abba!”

But it’s your custom that I release someone for you at Passover. So do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?”
