When eight days had passed for His brit-milah, He was named Yeshua, the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.
In the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin is to be circumcised.
Now on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they kept trying to call him by his father’s name, Zechariah.
Behold, you will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and you shall call His name Yeshua.
Also your eight-day-olds must be circumcised, every male, throughout your generations, including a house-born slave or a slave bought with money from any foreigner who is not of your seed.
He humbled Himself— becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
But Yeshua responded, “Let it happen now, for in this way it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” So John yielded to Him.
But he did not know her intimately until she had given birth to a Son. And he called His name Yeshua.
She will give birth to a son; and you shall call His name Yeshua, for He will save His people from their sins.”
