Hypocrites! Rightly did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying,

“But woe to you, Torah scholars and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut people out of the kingdom of heaven. For you do not enter yourselves, nor do you let those enter who are trying to go in.

In the same way, you appear righteous to men on the outside, but are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

Hypocrite, first take the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.

Meanwhile, when thousands of people had gathered, so many that they were trampling one another, Yeshua began speaking first to His disciples, “Be on guard yourselves against the hametz of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the beam in your own eye? You hypocrite! First take the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly the speck in your brother’s eye, to take it out.”

When the Lord saw her, He felt compassion for her and said, “Don’t cry.”

John sent them to the Lord, saying, “Are you the One who is to come, or should we look for another?”
