When the Ammonites saw that the Arameans had fled, they likewise fled before his brother Abishai and withdrew into the city. Then Joab went to Jerusalem.

Meanwhile the rest of the Jews who were in the king’s provinces gathered together to protect themselves and to get relief from their enemies. They killed 75,000 of their enemies, but they did not lay their hands on the plunder.

“Adonai will cause your enemies who rise up against you to be struck down before you. They will come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.

How can one chase a thousand and two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them and Adonai had handed them over?

One of you can put a thousand to flight, for Adonai your God, He Himself is fighting for you, just as He said to you.

Then he found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, reached out and took it, and killed a thousand men with it.

But Barak pursued the chariots and the army as far as Harosheth-ha-goyim. The whole army of Sisera fell by the sword; not one was left.

Then men of Israel were summoned from Naphtali, Asher and all Manasseh, and they pursued Midian.

So Jonathan climbed up on his hands and feet, with his armor-bearer behind him. Then they fell before Jonathan, his armor-bearer behind him finishing them off.
