“Go to the house of the Rechabites, speak to them, and bring them into one of the chambers of the House of Adonai, and give them wine to drink.”

When the Canaanite king of Arad, who lived in the Negev, heard that Israel was coming along the road to Atharim, he attacked Israel and captured some of them.

In those days, John the Immerser came proclaiming in the wilderness of Judea,

the Negev and the plain of the valley of Jericho the city of palm trees, as far as Zoar.
