The two were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and arrived at the tomb first.
“Whatever may come of it, I want to run!” So he said to him, “Run!” Ahimaaz ran by the way of the plain, and so passed the Cushite.
then the kohen is to examine the plague, and behold, if its appearance is deeper than the skin, and the hair in it is yellow and thin, then the kohen is to pronounce him unclean. It is a scab—tza'arat of the head or the chin.
Then Peter and the other disciple set out, going to the tomb.
Leaning in, he sees the linen strips lying there. But he didn’t go in.
So then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also entered. He saw and believed.
Don’t you know that in a stadium the runners all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win!
For if the eagerness is present, the gift is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he doesn’t have.
