Then Peter and the other disciple set out, going to the tomb.

But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. Leaning in, he sees only the linen cloths. And he went away to his home, marveling at what had happened.

The two were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and arrived at the tomb first.
