Yeshua says to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?” Thinking He’s the gardener, she says to Him, “Sir, if You’ve carried Him away, tell me where You’ve put Him, and I will take Him away.”

“Woman, why are you crying?” they say to her. She says to them, “Because they took away my Master, and I don’t know where they’ve put Him.”

So again He asked them, “Who are you looking for?” And they said, “Yeshua ha-Natzrati.”

Yeshua turned around and saw them following. He said to them, “What are you looking for?” They said to Him, “Rabbi” (which is translated Teacher), “where are you staying?”

But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You are looking for Yeshua of Natzeret, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here! See the place where they put Him.

But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know you are looking for Yeshua who was crucified.

I will get up and go about the city, into the streets and into the squares. I must seek the one my soul loves. I looked for him but did not find him.

Don’t consider your handmaid a wicked woman. For out of my great anguish and grief I’ve been praying until now.”

Then Yeshua, knowing all the things coming upon Him, went forward. He said to them, “Who are you looking for?”

The women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you search for the living among the dead?

You brood of vipers! How can you who are evil say anything good? For from the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.

Where has your lover gone, most beautiful among women? Where has your lover turned, so we may seek him with you?

Supposing He was in the caravan, they went a day’s journey, then began looking for Him among relatives and friends.
