Remember how the enemy mocked, Adonai, and how foolish people despised Your Name.

Rise up O God, and defend Your cause. Remember how the fool mocks You all day.

For He remembered that they are but flesh, a passing breath that never returns.

How long, Adonai, will You hide Yourself? Forever? Will Your fury keep burning like fire?

Where is Your former lovingkindness, my Lord, which You swore to David in Your faithfulness?

Adonai, you know. Remember me and think of me. Avenge me against my persecutors. Because of Your long-suffering, do not take me away. Know that for Your sake I endure scorn.

Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. What is your life? For you are a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
