My bones cling to my skin and my flesh; I have escaped only by the skin of my teeth.

Even after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God;

The womb forgets him, the worm feasts on him, no longer will he be remembered. But like a tree, wickedness is broken.

then You would plunge me into a pit and my own clothes would detest me.

From the foot to the head there is no soundness. Wounds, bruises and raw sores: not pressed, nor bandaged, nor softened with oil.

Your pomp is brought down to Sheol with the music of your harps. Maggots are spread out under you, and worms cover you.”

“As they leave, they will look on the corpses of the people who rebelled against Me. For their worm will not die, and their fire will not be quenched, and they will be a horror to all flesh.”

There you will remember your ways and all your deeds, by which you defiled yourselves. You will loathe yourselves for all your evil that you have done.

Immediately, an angel of the Lord struck him down—because he did not give God the glory. And he was eaten by worms and died.
