“For Job says, ‘I am righteous, but God has deprived me of justice.
though You know that I am not guilty, yet there is no one to deliver from Your hand?
For you have said, ‘My teaching is flawless’ and ‘I am pure in Your eyes!’
See now, I have prepared my case; I know that I will be vindicated.
yet no violence is in my hands and my prayer is pure.
“Though I cry out, ‘Violence!’ I get no response. I cry for help, but there is no justice.
“As God lives, who has deprived me of justice, Shaddai who has made my soul bitter,
I put on righteousness as my clothing; justice was as my robe and turban.
So these three men stopped answering Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.
‘I am pure, without transgression; I am innocent, without iniquity.
Let us choose for ourselves what is right; Let us learn together what is good.
Relent, do not be unjust; reconsider, for my righteousness is in it.
Does God pervert justice? Does Shaddai pervert justice?
He who crushes me with a storm and multiplies my wounds for no reason.
Why do you say, O Jacob, and assert, O Israel, “My way is hidden from Adonai, and the justice due me escapes the notice of my God”?
