The righteous see and rejoice; the innocent mock them, saying,
Even before your pots can feel a thorn —whether alive or ablaze— He will sweep the wicked away.
The upright see it and are glad, and all iniquity shuts its mouth.
You love only devouring words— treacherous tongue!
Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you kedoshim, emissaries and prophets! For God has judged her condemnation of you!”
When the righteous do well, a city rejoices. When the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy.
Zion hears and is glad, and the daughters of Judah rejoice, because of Your judgments, Adonai.
Like Your Name, O God, so is Your praise to the ends of the earth. Your right hand is full of righteousness.
If a scourge smites suddenly, He mocks the despair of the innocent.
The upright are appalled at this; the innocent are stirred up against the ungodly.
Then all men will fear. So they will declare the work of God, and ponder what He has done.
