what wise men have declared and did not hide from their ancestors,
Both gray-haired and aged are with us, men even older than your father.
I will tell you; listen to me, and what I have seen I will declare,
to whom alone the land was given, when no foreigner passed among them:
Do you not know that it has been from old, since mankind was put on earth,
Now ask the previous generation; consider the findings of their fathers;
So even until I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me, till I tell of Your strong arm to the next generation, Your might to all who are to come.
The living, the living—they praise You— as I do today. A father makes Your faithfulness known to his children.
