For I will restore health to you and will heal you of your wounds.” It is a declaration of Adonai. “For they called you an outcast: ‘Zion—no one cares about her.’”

For He inflicts pain, but He also binds up; He injures, yet His hands also heal.

He forgives all your iniquity. He heals all your diseases.

He sent His word and healed them, and rescued them from their pits.

They say: “With our tongue we’ll prevail. We own our lips—who can master us?”

When my spirit grows faint within me, You know my path. In the way where I walk they have hidden a trap for me.

He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His Name’s sake.

He said, “If you diligently listen to the voice of Adonai your God, do what is right in His eyes, pay attention to His mitzvot, and keep all His decrees, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians. For I am Adonai who heals you.”

He will lift up a banner for the nations, and assemble the dispersed of Israel, and gather the scattered of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

Moreover the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be seven times brighter— like the light of seven days— in the day Adonai binds up the brokenness of His people, and heals the wounds He inflicted.

No inhabitant will say, “I am sick.” The people dwelling there will be forgiven their iniquity.

“For Adonai has called you back like a wife deserted and grieved in spirit, like a wife of one’s youth that is rejected,” says your God.

Adonai Elohim, who gathers the dispersed of Israel, declares, “I will gather still others to him, to those already gathered.”

I have seen his ways, but I will heal him. I will lead him and restore comfort to him and his mourners.

Creating the praise of lips: ‘Shalom, shalom to him who is far and to him who is near,’ says Adonai, ‘and I will heal him.’”

Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will spring up speedily. Your righteousness will go before you, the glory of Adonai as your rear guard.”

Instead of deserted and hated, no one passing through, I will make you an eternal pride, joy from generation to generation.

“My tent is destroyed and all my ropes are snapped. My children are gone from me and are no more. No one is left to stretch out my tent or set up my tent curtains.

Heal me, Adonai, and I will be healed. Save me, and I will be saved. For You are my praise.

No one pleads your cause, for there is no remedy for your wound, no healing for you.

“Have you not noticed what this people have spoken, saying: ‘The two families which Adonai did choose, He has rejected them’? Thus they despise My people—no longer a nation before them.”

“Indeed, I will bring it health and healing, and I will surely heal them. I will reveal to them an abundance of shalom and truth.

Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Then why has no healing gone up for the daughter of my people?

All who pass your way clap their hands at you. They hiss and shake their heads at the daughter of Jerusalem. “Is this the city of which they said, ‘The perfection of beauty,’ ‘the joy of the whole earth’?”

“I will seek the lost, bring back the stray, bind up the broken and strengthen the sick. But the fat and the strong I will destroy—I will tend them with justice.

You will know that I, Adonai, have heard all your blasphemies that you uttered against the mountains of Israel saying: “They are laid desolate—they are given for us to devour!”

Wherever they went among the nations, they profaned My holy Name, since it was said about them, ‘These are the people of Adonai, yet they had to leave His land.’

Yet it was I who taught Ephraim to walk. I took them on My arms. But they never acknowledged that I had healed them.

Come, let us return to Adonai. For He has torn, but He will heal us. He has smitten, but He will bind us up.

He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we, removed from sins, might live for righteousness. “By His wounds you were healed.”
