By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac. Yes, he who had received the promises was offering up his one and only son—

But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith without works and I will show you faith by my works.

You see that a man is proved righteous by works and not by faith alone.

Then I took your father Abraham from beyond the River and led him through the entire land of Canaan and multiplied his offspring. I gave him Isaac,
