Does a plowman plow all day to sow the seed? Does he continually break open and harrow his ground?

a time to give birth and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted;

Give ear and hear my voice! Pay attention and hear my words.

No! When he has leveled its surface, he scatters dill and sows cumin, plants wheat in rows, places barley, and rye on its border.

Thus says Adonai to the people of Judah and to Jerusalem: “Break up your unplowed ground and do not sow among thorns.
