For the fields of Heshbon have withered, as well as the vine of Sibmah. Rulers of nations have trampled the choice clusters, that reached as far as Jazer and into the desert, its branches spread out and crossed to the sea.

After Moses sent spies to Jazer, they captured her towns and drove out the Amorites who were there.

“Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Sebam, Nebo and Beon—

as well as Atroh-shophan, Jazer and Jogbehah,

Nebo, Baal Meon, (cities whose names were changed) and Sibmah. They gave other names to the rebuilt cities.

Kiriathhaim, Sibmah and Zereth-shahar on the hill of the valley,

as their territory: Jazer, all the towns of Gilead, half the land of the children of Ammon up to Aroer which is near Rabbah,
