So whenever she spoke to Joseph, day after day, he did not listen to her invitation to lie down beside her, to be with her.

Now on one such day, he came into the house to do his work, and none of the people of the house were there in the house.

When she saw that he had left his garment in her hand and fled outside,

But he refused. “Look,” he said to his master’s wife, “my master doesn’t think about anything in the house with me in charge, and everything that belongs to him he’s entrusted into my hand.

But when she brought them close to him to eat, he grabbed her and said to her, “Come lie with me, my sister.”

My son, do not go along with them, keep your foot from their path—

Keep your path far from her and do not go near the door of her house—

Escape like a gazelle from the hunter’s hand, like a bird from the snare of the fowler.

I find more bitter than death the woman who is a snare, whose heart is a trap, and whose hands are chains. He who pleases God will escape her, but a sinner will be captured by her.

Do not be deceived! “Bad company corrupts good morals.”

Now flee from youthful desires; instead, pursue righteousness, faithfulness, love, and shalom, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

Loved ones, I urge you as strangers and sojourners to keep away from the fleshly cravings that war against the soul.
