Adonai said to her: “Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from your body will be separated. One people will be stronger than the other people, but the older will serve the younger.”

May peoples serve you and may nations bow down to you. Be master over your brothers. May your mother’s sons bow down to you. May those who curse you be cursed and may those who bless you be blessed.”

Thus Edom has been in rebellion against Judah to this day. Then Libnah also revolted from under his hand at that time—because he had forsaken Adonai, the God of his fathers.

In his days Edom rebelled against Judah’s rule and set up a king over themselves.

Once again the Edomites had come and invaded Judah and taken captives,

God has spoken in His holiness: “I will exult! I will parcel out Shechem and measure off the valley of Succoth.

“Do not think that I came to bring shalom on the earth; I did not come to bring shalom, but a sword.
