Then Pharaoh rose up in the night, he and all his servants and all the Egyptians, and there was loud wailing in Egypt. For there was not a house where someone was not dead.
He cleared a path for His anger. He spared not their soul from death, but gave their life over to the plague.
But he said to them, “So may Adonai be with you, if I ever do let you go, with your little ones. See clearly now! Evil is in your face.
There will be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, the likes of which has never been before nor will ever be again.
Whoever shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, will also cry out but not be answered.

Pestilence goes before Him, a fiery bolt goes forth at His feet.

For judgment is merciless to the one who does not show mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
The people who did not die were afflicted with tumors, so that the outcry of the city went up to heaven.
