“Your life will hang in the balance before you; you will be afraid night and day, and you will have no assurance of your life.

But the eyes of the wicked will fail, and escape will elude them; their only hope is their dying breath.”

Judah is gone into exile under affliction and great servitude. She dwells among the nations. She finds no resting place. All her pursuers have overtaken her in the midst of her distress.

Because of this our heart is faint, for these things our eyes are dim,
