“Remember what Amalek did to you along the way as you came out from Egypt—

Now Timna was a concubine to Esau’s son Eliphaz, and she bore Amalek to Eliphaz. These are the sons of Esau’s wife Adah.

Then he saw Amalek, so he uttered his oracle and said: “Amalek was the first of nations, but will come to ruin at last.”

Thus says Adonai-Tzva’ot: ‘I remember what Amalek did to Israel, how he set himself against him on the way while he was coming up from Egypt.
