But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the king’s delicacies or with the wine he was drinking, so he entreated the chief official for permission not to defile himself.

So Judah and Israel lived securely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.

When he arrived and saw the grace of God, he was thrilled. He encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with heartfelt devotion.

but to write to them to abstain from the contamination of idols, and from sexual immorality, and from what is strangled, and from blood.

But he who stands firm in his heart—who has no pressure, but has power over his own will and has so determined in his own heart to keep her a virgin—he will do well.

Let each one give as he has decided in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion—for God loves a cheerful giver.

Who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their libation? Let them rise up and help you and be a shelter over you!
