“For truly both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, were gathered together in this city against Your holy Servant Yeshua, whom You anointed.

Who can make something pure out of the impure? No one!

“What is man, that he could be pure, or one born of woman, that he could be righteous?

How then can a man be righteous with God? How can one born of a woman be pure?

The kings of earth set themselves up and rulers conspire together against Adonai and against His Anointed One :

“I have set up My king upon Zion, My holy mountain.”

Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, and a scepter of justice is the scepter of Your kingdom.

Have you not heard? I did it long ago! From ancient times I planned it. Now I have brought it to pass— that you should turn fortified cities into heaps of rubble.

Thus says Adonai, the Redeemer of Israel, their Holy One, to the One despised, to the One the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers: “Kings will see and arise, princes will also bow down, because of Adonai who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel who has chosen You.”

He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief, One from whom people hide their faces. He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

The Ruach Adonai Elohim is on me, because Adonai has anointed me to proclaim Good News to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound,

At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the report about Yeshua.

For Herod had arrested John, bound him, and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip,

But when Herod’s birthday celebration came, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod,

“Now what do you think? A man had two sons, and he went to the first and said, ‘Son, go work in the vineyard today.’

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem who kills the prophets and stones those sent to her! How often I longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!

And they tied Him up, led Him away, and handed Him over to Pilate, the governor.

He said, “Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the ruling kohanim and the Torah scholars. They will condemn Him to death and hand Him over to the Gentiles.

Likewise the ruling kohanim, along with the Torah scholars, were also mocking Him among themselves. “He saved others,” they were saying, “but He can’t save Himself?

And responding, the angel said to her, “The Ruach ha-Kodesh will come upon you, and the power of Elyon will overshadow you. Therefore, the Holy One being born will be called Ben-Elohim.

Now the men who were guarding Yeshua began mocking and beating Him.

Then the entire assembly got up and brought Yeshua to Pilate.

“The Ruach Adonai is on me, because He has anointed me to proclaim Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed,

saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and ruling kohanim and Torah scholars, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.”

He came to His own, but His own did not receive Him.

do you say of Him, the One the Father set apart and sent into the world, ‘You speak blasphemy,’ because I said, ‘I am Ben-Elohim’?

Then they led Yeshua from Caiaphas to the Praetorium. It was early. They themselves did not enter the Praetorium, so they would not become unclean but might eat the Passover.

Therefore Pilate came out to them and said, “What charge do you bring against this man?”

But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.

You know how God anointed Yeshua of Natzeret with the Ruach ha-Kodesh and power—how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with Him.

because You will not abandon my soul to Sheol or let Your Holy One see decay.

while You stretch out Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy Servant Yeshua.”

For such a Kohen Gadol was fitting for us: holy, guiltless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.
