For they were hearing them speaking in tongues and magnifying God. Then Peter answered,

And when Paul laid hands upon them, the Ruach ha-Kodesh came upon them, and they began speaking in tongues and prophesying.

They were all filled with the Ruach ha-Kodesh and began to speak in other tongues as the Ruach enabled them to speak out.

These signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will drive out demons; they will speak new languages;

(both Jewish people and proselytes), Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring in our own tongues the mighty deeds of God!”
