Like a fluttering sparrow or a flying swallow, so an undeserved curse does not land.

Did He strike Israel as He struck those who struck them? Or were they slain as their slayers were slain?

Who knows? He may turn and relent, and may leave a blessing behind Him —so there may be a grain offering and a drink offering for Adonai, your God.

Now we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.

For our trouble, light and momentary, is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison,

because they did not meet you with bread and water on the way when you came out from Egypt, and because they hired against you Balaam son of Beor from Petor of Aram-naharaim to curse you.

But Adonai your God refused to listen to Balaam, and Adonai your God turned the curse into a blessing for you because He loves you.
