Then David got up from the floor, washed and anointed himself, and changed his clothes. Then he went to the House of Adonai and worshipped. When he came back to his own palace, he asked for food, so they set food before him and he ate.

Then Job got up, tore his robe, shaved his head, fell to the ground and worshiped.

So Joab sent word to Tekoa and brought a wise woman from there. He said to her, “Please pretend to be a mourner and put on mourning clothes. Do not anoint yourself with oil but be like a woman who has been mourning many days for the dead.

Then the king said to Shimei, “You shall not die,” and the king swore it to him.

Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before Adonai our Maker.

Of David. Bless Adonai, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy Name.

Adonai is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and plentiful in mercy.

Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear Adonai and turn away from evil.

So now, please pardon my sin and return with me, that I may worship Adonai.”

So Samuel returned after Saul, and Saul bowed in worship to Adonai.
