Joahaz was 23 years old when he became king, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.
Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in Jerusalem in his father’s place.
The king of Egypt deposed him in Jerusalem and imposed a fine on the land of 100 talents of silver and a talent of gold.
Oy to you, O land, when your king is a youth and your princes feast in the morning.
I will set children as their rulers. Capricious ones will govern them.
