Then Saul built an altar to Adonai; it was the first altar that he built to Adonai.

Samuel then went to Ramah, while Saul went up to his house in Gibeah of Saul.

Then Elkanah went home to Ramah, while the boy served Adonai before Eli the kohen.

Now Samuel had died, and all Israel had lamented him and buried him in Ramah, his hometown. Saul had removed from the land those who were mediums and spiritists.

Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah,

They answered them and said, “He is there, ahead of you. Hurry now, for he has come today to the town because people have a sacrifice at the high place today.
