Again he denied it with an oath: “I don’t know the Man!”

“Please, let the king remember Adonai your God,” she said, “so that the avenger of blood does not destroy any more, so they won’t destroy my son.” “As Adonai lives,” he said, “not one hair of your son will fall to the ground.”

Saul listened to the voice of Jonathan, and Saul swore, “As Adonai lives, he will not be put to death.”

“You must not take the Name of Adonai your God in vain, for Adonai will not hold him guiltless that takes His Name in vain.

For God knows that when you eat of it, your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

“Look, you know what Saul has done,” she said, “how he has cut off the mediums and spiritists from the land. So why then are you setting a trap for my life to get me killed?”

“Whom will I bring up for you?” the woman asked. “Bring me up Samuel,” he said.
