Now this we will do, if God permits.

But I call God as my witness—to spare you, I didn’t come to Corinth again.

If anyone is hungry let him eat at home, so that when you meet it doesn’t lead to judgment. And the rest I will put in order when I come.

Now some are puffed up, as though I were not coming to you.

We do speak wisdom, however, among those who are mature—but not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.

Then, God willing, I may come to you in joy, and together with you find rest.

Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.”

But I will come to you after I have passed through Macedonia—for I am passing through Macedonia.

Now I want you all to speak in tongues, but even more that you would prophesy. One who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues—unless he interprets, so that the community may be built up.

When he had passed through these parts and given them a great word of encouragement, he came to Greece,

Now I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, brothers and sisters, so you might learn from us not to go beyond what is written. Then none of you will be puffed up in favor of one against the other.

For I do not wish to see you now just in passing—for I hope to stay on with you for a while, if the Lord permits.
