So you bear witness to and approve of the works of your fathers, for they killed the prophets, and you build their tombs.

No longer do I call you servants, because a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything I heard from my Father.

Love must be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.

Do yoʋ have a firm belief about these things? Have it privately before God. Blessed is he who does not condemn himself by what he approves.

Now if I do the very thing I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good.

For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit desires what is contrary to the flesh. These are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the very things you want to do.

For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to bridle his entire body as well.
