My eager expectation and hope is that I will not be put to shame in anything, but will speak with complete boldness so that now, as always, Christ will be magnified in my body, whether I live or die.

(He said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God.) After saying this, he said to Peter, “Follow me.”

But I take no account of these things, nor do I regard my life as precious to myself, if only I may complete my course with joy and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

But Paul responded, “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be imprisoned, but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”

After they prayed, the place where they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking the word of God with boldness.

I urge you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God, your reasonable religious service.

and hope does not put to shame, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

And do not present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as alive from the dead, and present your members to God as instruments of righteousness.

(I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh.) For just as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification.

The creation waits with eager longing for the sons of God to be revealed.

as it is written, “Behold, I am placing in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense, yet no one who believes in him will be put to shame.”

I die daily! Yes, just as surely as I boast about you in Christ Jesus our Lord.

for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God with your body and with your spirit, which belong to God.

There is a difference between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman is concerned about the affairs of the Lord, how she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But the married woman is concerned about the affairs of the world, how she will please her husband.

For even if I boast somewhat further about our authority (which the Lord has given us for building you up and not for tearing you down), I will not be ashamed.

Therefore, since we have such a hope, we act with great boldness.

always carrying about in our bodies the death of the Lord Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our bodies.

And he died for all so that those who live may no longer live for themselves, but for him who died for them and was raised.

For if I made any boast to him about you, I was not put to shame. But just as everything we said to you was true, so our boasting to Titus has also proven to be true.

Great is my boldness toward you; great is my boasting on your behalf. I am filled with comfort; I am overflowing with joy in all our affliction.

And the greater part of the brothers in the Lord have gained confidence through my imprisonment and are far more bold to speak the word without fear.

But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.

I rejoice now in my sufferings for you, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church.

Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your entire spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

but if anyone suffers as a Christian, he should not be ashamed, but should glorify God in this matter.

And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he is revealed we may have confidence and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
