Sell your possessions and give to the needy. Make yourselves moneybags that do not wear out, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.
But know this: If the master of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.
When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “One thing yoʋ still lack: Sell everything yoʋ have and distribute the money to the poor, and yoʋ will have treasure in heaven; then come follow me.”
Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty or to put their hope in the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have, for God has said, “I will never leave yoʋ, nor will I ever forsake yoʋ.”
