In response Pilate said to them again, “What then do you want me to do with the man you call King of the Jews?”
“Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, yoʋr king is coming to yoʋ, humble and mounted on a donkey, and a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.’ ”
But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have Pilate release for them Barabbas instead.
They cried out again, “Crucify him!”
They began to accuse him, saying, “We found this man perverting the nation and forbidding us to pay taxes to Caesar, declaring himself to be Christ, a king.”
God exalted him to his right hand as Leader and Savior to grant repentance to Israel and remission of sins.
