Once again he went away and prayed the same prayer.
“And when you pray, do not babble on repetitiously like the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard because of their use of many words.
Keep watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
When he returned, he found them sleeping again, for their eyes were heavy, and they did not know what to say in response.
Then Jesus told them a parable about the need to pray at all times and not lose heart.
Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.
In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.
