At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the report about Jesus

For Herod had arrested John, bound him, and put him in prison on account of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife.

But when Herod's birthday was celebrated, the daughter of Herodias danced before the guests and pleased Herod.

He answered them, “Elijah does indeed come first to restore all things. How then is it written that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be treated with contempt?

Meanwhile, the chief priests and the scribes stood there, vehemently accusing him.

Jesus then came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple garment, and Pilate said to them, “Behold, the man!”

Suppose a man in fine clothing comes into your assembly wearing a gold ring, and a poor man in filthy clothing also comes in.

If you pay attention to the man who is wearing fine clothing and say to him, “Yoʋ sit here in a good place,” but you say to the poor man, “Yoʋ stand there, or sit here under my footstool,”
