The Text-Critical English New Testament

(Jesus spoke these words in the treasury as he taught in the temple courts. But no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come.)

In that hour Jesus said to the crowds, “Have you come out to arrest me with swords and clubs as you would against a robber? I sat daily with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest me.

The chief priests took the pieces of silver and said, “It is not lawful to put them into the temple treasury, since they are a price paid for blood.”

Later Jesus sat down across from the treasury and watched how the crowd was putting money into the treasury. Many rich people put in large amounts.

So Jesus called his disciples over and said to them, “Truly I say to you, this poor widow has put more money into the treasury than all the others.

Then the chief priests and the scribes wanted to arrest him at that very hour, for they knew he had spoken this parable against them, but they were afraid.

Then Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury.

Again they sought to arrest him, but he eluded their grasp.

Jesus said to her, “Woman, what concern is that to yoʋ or to me? My hour has not yet come.”

Midway through the feast, Jesus went up to the temple courts and began to teach.

So they were seeking to arrest him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come.

Some of them wanted to arrest him, but no one laid a hand on him.

You go up to this feast; I am not yet going up to this feast, for my time has not yet been fulfilled.”

Early in the morning he again went to the temple courts. All the people came, and he sat down and taught them.

So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out from the temple grounds. And passing through the crowd, he walked away.
