“Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you. We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them.

Simon Peter answered, “Yoʋ are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself.

He who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory, but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is true, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

But Peter raised him up, saying, “Stand up; I too am just a man.”

And we preach to you the good news that what God promised to our fathers, he has fulfilled to us, their children, by raising up Jesus,

After preaching the gospel in that city and making many disciples, Paul and Barnabas returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch,

There they continued to preach the gospel.

Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

“Men, I perceive that this voyage is going to result in damage and great loss, not only of the cargo and of the ship, but also of our lives.”

Since there had been little desire to eat, Paul stood up among them and said, “Men, you should have listened to my advice not to set sail from Crete; then you would have spared yourselves this damage and loss.

Therefore be of good cheer, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as I have been told.

When they heard this, they lifted up their voices with one accord to God and said, “Master, yoʋ are God, who made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them.

The next day Moses came upon two Israelites who were fighting and urged them to make peace, saying, ‘Men, you are brothers; why are you hurting each other?’

With regard then to eating food sacrificed to idols, we know that “an idol is nothing in the world,” and that “there is no other God but one.”

Therefore, I solemnly declare in the Lord that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds.

For the people themselves report what kind of reception we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God,

But if I delay, I am writing so that yoʋ may know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, a pillar and foundation of the truth.

See to it, brothers, that none of you has an evil heart of unbelief that turns away from the living God.

Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the land.

He said with a loud voice, “Fear the Lord and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water.”

Then I fell at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “Do not do that! I am a fellow servant of yoʋrs, and of yoʋr brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God.” For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Then I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and against his army.

But he said to me, “Do not do that! I am a fellow servant of yoʋrs, and of yoʋr brothers the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.”

“Yoʋ are worthy, our Lord and God, the Holy One, to receive glory, honor, and power, for yoʋ created all things, and by yoʋr will they came into existence and were created.”
