Be diligent to present yoʋrself to God as a proven worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly teaches the word of truth.

Then he said to them, “Therefore every scribe that has been trained as a disciple for the kingdom of heaven is like a master of a house who brings out of his treasure things new and old.”

With many similar parables he spoke the word to them, to the extent that they were able to understand it.

The Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his master will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the proper time?

“Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with miracles, wonders, and signs that God did through him in your midst, just as you yourselves well know,

For I have not held back from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.

Anyone who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.

Greet Apelles, who is approved in Christ. Greet those of the household of Aristobulus.

And do not present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as alive from the dead, and present your members to God as instruments of righteousness.

Now we speak wisdom among the mature, but not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are being brought to nothing.

For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.

He has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

Rather, we have renounced shameful hidden deeds; we do not act deceitfully or distort the word of God, but by openly proclaiming the truth we commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God.

Therefore, whether we are at home or away, we aspire to be pleasing to him.

Am I now seeking the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.

And when you heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in Christ, you were also sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,

but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God, who examines our hearts.

And we urge you, brothers, to admonish those who are idle, encourage the fainthearted, support the weak, and be patient toward all.

If yoʋ point these things out to the brothers, yoʋ will be a good servant of Jesus Christ, nourished by the words of the faith and the sound doctrine that yoʋ have closely followed.

Therefore let us make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall into the same pattern of disobedience.

Blessed is the man who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love him.

Of his own will he gave us birth by the word of truth so that we would be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm that you are among those whom God has called and chosen, because if you do these things, you will never stumble.

And I will make every effort to ensure that after my departure you will be able to recall these things at any time.

Therefore, beloved, as you wait for these things, be diligent to be found at peace, spotless and blameless in his sight.
