I give thanks to God that I baptized none of you, except Crispus and Gaius,

So he gave orders to have them baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay on for a few days.

Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord together with his whole household. And many of the Corinthians, when they heard, believed and were baptized.

Gaius, who is host to me and to the whole church, greets you. Erastus, the treasurer of the city, greets you, and so does Quartus, our brother.
